About the Avator 110e

The Avator 110e is the most powerful model in Mercury's current electric-outboard line. It draws up to 12.8 kW and delivers 11 kW of rated prop-shaft power through a three-blade aluminium propeller. Mercury positions it for medium-sized aluminium fishing boats, pontoons and small runabouts rather than lightweight tenders. Remote steering is standard, with 20- and 25-inch shaft choices. The drive weighs 56 kg before batteries, controls and the Power Center are added. A SmartCraft Connect module links the system to Mercury's mobile app for performance data, range estimates, dealer contact and software updates. The helm display also reports battery level, power, alerts and estimated runtime. As with other higher-power electric systems, the motor is only one part of the installation: usable range, total weight and charging time depend on how many batteries the boat carries.

Performance in Context

Mercury does not publish one universal speed or range for the 110e because hull resistance and battery count materially change both. The 11 kW prop-shaft rating is the useful comparison figure; the 12.8 kW number is electrical input. A prospective buyer should request performance data from the same hull, load and battery configuration under consideration. Adding batteries extends available energy but also increases displacement, so range does not rise without a weight penalty.

Battery and Charging

The system uses 48 V, 5.376 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery modules rated IP67. Up to four batteries connect through Mercury's 5400 Power Center, which provides system integration and a single charging point. Mercury offers 520 W portable and 1,050 W vessel-mounted chargers. The company says a 520 W charger takes about 20 hours to recharge two depleted modules, while the 1 kW-class charger cuts that time by more than half. Battery count and charger choice should be sized around the boat's normal turnaround window.

Availability and Pricing

The Avator 110e is sold through Mercury dealers as a configured installation. Dealer quotations should identify the number of batteries, Power Center, charger, controls, display, propeller and installation labour. A motor-only price is not a reliable comparison with a complete electric propulsion package.
