About the IE 75

The IE 75 is ACEL Power's currently available 55 kW electric outboard for pontoons, RIBs, skiffs and fishing boats. ACEL publishes 93 kW of peak power for 30 seconds, 234 Nm of peak motor torque and a 140 kg motor weight. A standard system uses three lithium-iron-phosphate battery modules providing 43 kWh at 400 V; ACEL also offers customized semi-solid-state storage. The motor is one component of ACEL's integrated package, which includes a battery-control module, digital throttle, touchscreen computer, charger, NFC smart key and power-distribution unit. The 20-inch shaft can be supplied in extended lengths. A rear-view camera can feed the helm display for docking and reversing. Although the motor is marketed in the 75 hp class, its 55 kW rated figure and 93 kW short-term peak should be kept separate when comparing sustained performance.

Best For

  • 16- to 22-foot pontoons, RIBs and fishing boats
  • Planing boats that benefit from short peak-power assistance
  • Integrated installations using ACEL controls and batteries

Performance in Context

ACEL describes typical cruising range of 25 to 50 nautical miles under moderate load, but notes that boat type, speed and battery configuration determine the result. The range should therefore be treated as a planning estimate rather than a motor specification. Rated output is 55 kW; 93 kW is available as a 30-second peak. Buyers should obtain a prediction for their hull, load, propeller and route and ask which portion of the battery capacity is usable.

Battery and Charging

The standard 43 kWh LFP pack weighs about 309 kg across three modules. ACEL lists portable smart chargers up to 6.6 kW and DC fast charging with a stated one-hour target under suitable conditions. Semi-solid-state modules can also be configured for projects that prioritize energy density. The charger, shore connection, battery thermal limits and turnaround requirement need to be specified together.

Availability and Pricing

ACEL says the IE 75 is in production and available for immediate ordering. Pricing is supplied by quotation. Confirm the battery configuration, charger, controls, shaft length, installation work and warranty allocation in the quoted system; ACEL publishes different warranty periods for the battery, motor hardware and electronic package.
