About the Tango One

Tango One is EMO Electric's purpose-built aluminium electric power catamaran, developed around twin Flux Marine outboards and foil assistance. Each motor is rated at 115 hp continuous with 175 hp available for acceleration, and each uses two 28 kWh battery packs for 112 kWh total. Morrelli & Melvin designed the foils to reduce drag rather than lift the hull fully clear in every condition. The bay-oriented layout includes an 18-inch draft, hardtop, extendable solar shade, small head compartment, children's berth, bow daybed, aft seating, swim platform and anchor windlass. An 800 W solar system charges a removable Enphase auxiliary pack for phones, fans, television and coolers; it is not described as propulsion charging. EMO says foil, propeller and hull optimization are still underway and plans to begin pre-orders in summer 2026.

Performance in Context

EMO has published preliminary test material but explicitly says the foils and propellers remain unoptimized. No final production speed or range should be quoted yet. Prospective buyers should wait for a dated final performance report identifying load, water conditions, battery reserve and production hardware.

Battery and Charging

The propulsion system contains four 28 kWh NMC packs totaling 112 kWh. The separate 800 W solar installation serves an auxiliary Enphase pack, not the main propulsion batteries. EMO has not published final propulsion charge time, connector or shore-power requirements.

Availability and Pricing

Tango One remains under development. EMO says it intends to begin taking pre-orders in summer 2026 after hull optimization, but no final price or production delivery schedule is published. Any deposit should be tied to a written final specification, cancellation terms and test milestones.
