About the Pegasus

Foilone's Pegasus is a single-seat electric hydrofoil inspired by classic racing cars and aircraft. The 4.88-metre craft is built entirely from carbon fibre and weighs 200 kg with its two removable 5 kWh Torqeedo batteries, or 128 kg without them. A 14.9 kW motor drives the narrow hull to a published 18–22-knot cruise and 30-knot maximum. The foil system uses two in-line foils, mechanical self-adjusting ride-height control and tunable flap gearing rather than a large passenger boat's complex autonomous controller. Draft is about one metre with the foils fully extended in displacement mode, falling to 0.3–0.4 metre while foiling; with foils raised, draft is approximately 0.3 metre. This is a specialized solo craft, closer to a collector's performance machine than a practical family boat.

Performance in Context

Foilone publishes 18–22 knots at cruise, 30 knots maximum and more than two hours of operation. The former 50 NM claim is not present on the current product page. Endurance depends on speed, rider weight, water state and the time spent foiling versus displacement operation.

Battery and Charging

Two removable 5 kWh Torqeedo batteries provide 10 kWh total. Foilone quotes zero to full in under two hours, but buyers should confirm whether that requires charging both packs simultaneously, the shore-power requirement and whether all chargers and cables are included.
