About the Genesis 24

The Genesis 24 is the on-water test platform for Genesis Marine Technologies' Trident hybrid-electric powertrain. The company now states clearly that it is a technology demonstrator, not a production boat launch. Its combustion engine and electric drive operate through an onboard control module that blends power for full-performance operation and permits quiet electric-only running at low speed. Genesis publishes 530 hp of combined output, 1,420 lb-ft of torque and 120 kW of onboard charging capability. The 24-foot deep-V hull uses aerospace-composite construction and packages the driveline and energy storage as an integrated system. Although the demonstrator has been used for wake-surf testing and public demo rides, Genesis describes itself as a powertrain company focused on licensing, OEM integration, retrofit and defence—not a recreational boat builder taking retail Genesis 24 orders.

Performance in Context

Published output and torque describe the demonstrator's combined system. Genesis cautions that performance figures include engineering targets and validated results that vary by configuration and application. The former claims about weekend range and a 135 kWh battery are not supported on the current demonstrator page and have been removed.

Battery and Charging

Genesis lists 120 kW onboard charging capability but does not publish a retail battery capacity, connector or shore-charge schedule for the demonstrator. OEM partners should obtain the energy-storage, thermal-management, generator and charging specification under the relevant integration proposal.

Availability and Pricing

The Genesis 24 is explicitly built to validate the platform and is not for sale. The former $184,995 price was misleading and has been removed. Genesis offers demo rides and discussions for OEM, retrofit, government and investment partners rather than consumer orders for this hull.
