About the Silent 80

Silent's 80 Series expands the company's solar-electric concept into a 24.32 m, 75-tonne platform designed by Marco Casali. The 10.91 m beam creates room for four to six guest cabins plus crew, while owners can choose a flybridge, open three-deck sky lounge or enclosed upper deck. The closed version can devote the top level to an owner's suite and private terrace; the open version creates an 84 m² outdoor lounge. A large flat solar roof feeds the propulsion and hotel-energy system, and electric motors eliminate exhaust and most machinery noise during battery operation. A range extender remains part of the cruising safety net. The boat is intended for ocean passages, but solar-electric ownership still involves active energy management: air-conditioning, speed, weather and latitude determine how much power remains for propulsion each day.

Performance in Context

Silent's current FAQ describes a typical 6-8 knot cruise and roughly 12 knots maximum for its yacht range. The old 20-knot claim is not supported by the current series page. Displacement, motor selection, hotel load and sea state determine passage speed and range, while the range extender supports extended high-consumption operation.

Battery and Charging

Silent lists a 26 kWp solar system and about 160 kWh of daily production for the 80 Series in favourable conditions. Battery storage and charging hardware are build-specific; 2025 launch reporting cited roughly 522-696 kWh options. Shore power and the onboard range extender supplement solar when demand or weather requires it.

Availability and Pricing

The 80 Series is current, with multiple deck and cabin configurations. Silent publishes pricing by inquiry, so the old €5.5 million starting figure has been removed. A meaningful quote must define the deck arrangement, propulsion, battery storage, generator, accommodations, systems, tender package and delivery jurisdiction.
