About the Launch 25 GTe

Chris-Craft unveiled the Launch 25 GTe in 2023 as a running demonstration of how its classic runabout format could work with battery-electric propulsion. The project combines a 133 kWh battery with a 420 hp electric sterndrive and was developed with Winnebago Industries' Advanced Technology Group and EVOA Propulsion. Chris-Craft reported a 50 mph maximum speed and approximately two hours of operation, but those figures describe the concept boat rather than a certified production specification. The GTe shares its visual starting point with the Launch 25 GT, including an open cockpit and premium day-boat layout. It should not be confused with the current, combustion-powered Launch 25 GT that appears in Chris-Craft's configurator. No production date, order book or retail price has been announced for the electric concept.

Best For

  • Readers tracking electric concepts from established boatbuilders
  • Buyers comparing future premium electric runabout formats

Performance in Context

The published 50 mph speed and roughly two-hour runtime came from Chris-Craft's concept announcement. Runtime is not a range figure and will change substantially with speed, load, weather and water conditions. There is no manufacturer-published cruising-speed range curve for a saleable GTe.

Battery and Charging

The demonstrator uses a 133 kWh battery. Chris-Craft has not published a production charging standard, onboard-charger rating or charge-time schedule, so marina compatibility and charging time cannot be assessed as they would be for an orderable boat.

Availability and Pricing

The Launch 25 GTe remains a concept and is not currently offered for purchase. Chris-Craft says production timing is to be determined. Prospective buyers wanting a Launch 25 today should note that the model in the current configurator uses conventional sterndrive or outboard power.
