About the WAVE 300

The WAVE 300 is ExploMar's high-power single electric outboard for demanding leisure and commercial installations. Its axial-flux motor delivers 150 kW continuously and 225 kW for up to 60 seconds; the manufacturer markets the peak figure as 300 hp and the continuous figure as roughly 200 hp. The motor uses steer-by-wire, powered trim, a no-clutch reduction gearbox and closed liquid cooling. Three shaft lengths cover 20-, 25- and 30-inch transoms, with dry weight ranging from 210 to 226 kg. ExploMar packages the motor with its SmartCaptain controls, battery system and charger rather than treating each component as an unrelated purchase. A 12-inch IP67 touchscreen is included in the published system configurations. The resulting installation is aimed at boats in roughly the 6-to-10-metre range, but the large battery choices make hull structure, available volume and weight distribution central to the project.

Performance in Context

The 300 hp label refers to the 225 kW peak available for 60 seconds, not continuous output. Sustained output is 150 kW. ExploMar publishes estimated consumption of 2.5 kWh per kilometre for several packaged systems, but actual consumption depends heavily on hull, displacement, speed and conditions. No single range number applies because the company offers 180, 240 and 270 kWh configurations. Buyers should obtain a hull-specific prediction at both cruise and maximum continuous power.

Battery and Charging

Published battery choices include a 180 kWh NMC system, a 270 kWh NMC system and a 240 kWh semi-solid system. The 180 kWh pack alone is listed at 1,080 kg, illustrating why installed-system weight matters more than motor weight in isolation. Charger options include 7 kW portable AC, 40 kW movable charging and a 120 kW dual-gun station. Battery chemistry, pack cooling, shore infrastructure and the boat's duty cycle should be specified together.

Availability and Pricing

ExploMar supplies the WAVE 300 by quotation through its own sales operation and regional distributors. Published packages combine motor, battery, SmartCaptain controls and charging equipment. A proposal should identify the exact battery chemistry and capacity, charger, shaft length, installation responsibility, system weight and performance assumptions.
