The RaceBird is the standardized electric hydrofoil raced in the UIM E1 World Championship. Designed by Sophi Horne and engineered with SeaBird Technologies and Victory Marine, it carries one pilot and combines a Mercury Racing electric outboard with a 35 kWh Kreisel battery. E1 publishes 150 kW of power and a 50-knot top-speed figure. Foils lift the hull clear of the water at speed, reducing drag and allowing the agile turns needed for short-format racing close to shore. Simrad and C-MAP systems support navigation and situational awareness, while McLaren Applied data tools help teams analyse performance. This is not a recreational model offered through a conventional dealer network; it is purpose-built championship equipment. Its value to shoppers is mainly as a reference point for high-output electric outboards, battery thermal management and controlled foiling.
